CE Workshop with Kate McNulty, LCSW
Online via Zoom Video
Lisa Kays PLLC invites you to attend this course, which explores the likelihood of adults meeting criteria for diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly when their children have been diagnosed. Given the impact of these disabling developmental disorders, it is a form of advocacy and ethical practice as social workers to invite any adult who may be autistic to gain self-understanding. Initiating a conversation to explore the possibility of an inherited trait can offer needed support to the entire family.
The course explores specific cases and questions about our work in the context of the NASW Code of Ethics and the practical and clinical experience of other participants. In addition, participants will be invited to explore their own feelings, reactions, attitudes and beliefs regarding Autism in their practice. Social Workers are uniquely positioned to develop and discuss clinical approaches with clients that present a diverse, tolerant approach to finding accommodations and advocating for their children, as well as themselves.
